Our fruits are prepared with our special technique to impart flavors you won't find in your ordinary fruit butters. They are then are twice cooked giving our fruit butters body and flavors that you will love. We have wonderful and unusual combinations of fruits. Some of our selections are prepared with splashes of either champagne, brandy or rum and then cooked down leaving only the essence of those spirits and which serve to bring out a unique richness of taste. Olde-Tyme Mercantile Fruit Butters is the collaboration of two friends who love to cook and experiment. Looking for an alternative to sugary sweet spreads and toppings, they began to experiment with fruits, spices and flavorings based on an old family fruit butter recipe. They tried many combinations of fruits and different spices and flavorings until they came up with a variety of fruit butters that they really loved. At a party, they decided to serve these toppings to their friends and held a taste-test. Their combinations of flavors were a hit and so Olde-Tyme Mercantile Fruit Butters was born.
